Our Story
Insight Psychiatry was created from a very personal place because our founder, Summer Sievert PMHNP knew what it felt like to struggle to carry emotional weight, to feel unseen, or to wonder if things will ever get better or if anyone even cares. Because of her own personal journey, she wanted to build a space that felt different than most conventional mental health facilities.
A space where every person you interact with, from the scheduler to your provider, is someone who can understand patients in some capacity, so they don’t have to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable seeking out mental health. She saw firsthand how hard it can be to reach out for help when you’re struggling and understands the courage it takes to let someone in. You don’t have to be “put together” to be welcomed, a space where understanding replaces judgment and where your story is treated with the compassion it deserves. We understand that people are honestly just looking for someone who “actually listens” and actually cares.
As a small private practice, we are not required to push patients through as just another number, we are truly here for the people who need us shout out to the underdogs! We have the freedom to not just be part of our patients’ healing journey but get involved with our community and actually be a part of the change that is needed in our mental health care systems.
